For the second year running, the Rociero Group of Segura de Cieza is holding its painting competition to mark the upcoming Rociero pilgrimage to be held in Cieza. Here are the rules.
BASES:
1. Participants
All artists over 16 years of age may participate.
2. Theme
The theme is the Rociera pilgrimage taking place in Cieza, for which the selected work will be featured. The theme can be represented through all forms of flamenco and the Virgin of El Rocío.
3. Technique
Any of the pictorial techniques and media used in contemporary art may be used.
4. Dimensions and technical characteristics
The dimensions will be a maximum of 841 x 594 mm and a minimum of 420 x 297 mm. If the work is framed, the frame may not exceed one centimeter in width. Framed works with glass will not be accepted under any circumstances.
5. Registration and submission of works
To view the exhibition and for the possible selection of works by the jury, participants must register by email at gruporocierodelseguracieza@hotmail.com, from April 6th until 2:00 p.m. on May 6th, 2019, where they must provide the following information: NIF (Tax ID number), name, first and last name, address, age, contact telephone numbers, email address and the title of the work.
The works will be sent or deposited at the following address:
C/Escultor Salzillo nº21 1ºIzda, 30530 Cieza (Murcia) with a deadline of 2:00 p.m. on May 6, 2019.
All works must be accompanied by a sealed envelope with the same information as submitted for registration, with only the title of the work visible on the envelope.
6. Exhibition of the works and presentation of the winner
The proposals received will be exhibited at the Cajamurcia Culture Hall in Cieza (C/ Padre Salmerón, 2) on May 6, 2019 at 8:30 p.m., where the jury will select the winning work and the prize will be awarded.
7. Delivery of works and transportation
The board of directors of the Grupo Rociero del Segura association will contact the owners to request the return of the works, except for the award-winning work, which will become part of the association's assets at no cost.
The association is not responsible for shipping costs, both shipping and return, which will always be borne by the artists, nor for any damage that may occur during the transport of the works. The Rociero del Segura Group will ensure the proper preservation of the submitted works, but is not responsible for any damage that may occur.
8. Rights and obligations
Works that do not meet the conditions or are not submitted by the established deadlines will not be accepted. Participation in the awards implies acceptance of these rules and agreement with the decision of the respective juries.
9. Prize
The only winning work is endowed with €200 and will become the property of the Rociero del Segura Group, forming part of its collection and used for the poster of the 13th Romería Rociera de Cieza.
The jury may declare the prize void at any time. The prize is subject to the tax withholding established by current legislation. The winner grants the Rociero del Segura Group the rights to the image, communication, publication, and reproduction of the winning work in any medium or format.
The exhibition will open on Monday, May 6, at 8:30 p.m., and the award will be presented once the jury has finalized its verdict.
In addition, all participants will be given two tickets for free drinks at the tavern located in Arenal del Río Segura in Cieza on June 23, the day of the 13th Romería Rociera.
