The Forum for Thought and Dialogue, a cultural association that has celebrated its first decade of existence by carrying out an outreach activity aimed at cultivating critical thinking, is organizing the conference: "The Democratization of Artificial Intelligence: Understanding and Facing Its Challenges."
It will be led by Javier Marín Morales, PhD in Health and Well-being Technologies, Professor of Statistics at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, and researcher in artificial intelligence systems.
The event will be presented by Félix Miguel Marín Gómez, Urban Planner and Civil Engineer, this coming Thursday, November 23, at 8:00 p.m. in the Capitol Theater – Manuela Burló Room, with free admission until capacity is reached.
BIO
Born in Cieza (1988), he completed his secondary education at the Los Albares Secondary School in this town. He holds a degree in Civil Engineering (2014) from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV). He holds a PhD in Health and Wellbeing Technologies (UPV, 2020), with a doctoral thesis on applications of statistical machine learning to model emotional states using physiological biomarkers (Cum Laude, international mention).
He is currently a professor in the Department of Statistics, Applied Operations Research, and Quality (UPV) and a researcher at the Human-Tech Institute (UPV). His research focuses on creating artificial intelligence systems for recognizing emotional states, psychological traits, mental illnesses, and neurodevelopmental disorders, based on biomarkers with physiological and behavioral measurements. He also analyzes, recognizes, and generates communicative dynamics in human-computer interactions.
He has published more than 30 scientific articles in high-impact journals, participated in 25 conferences, was granted a patent, collaborated on a dozen projects, and completed several international stays. He recently published his first teaching book, Introduction to Statistical Analysis in R.
