A young man was arrested for simulating the theft of his cell phone, valued at 1,300 euros.

The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, as part of Operation Talking, has conducted an investigation in Cieza to investigate the theft of a mobile phone valued at €1,300. This investigation has culminated in the arrest of the complainant, a 24-year-old man, as the alleged perpetrator of the crimes of simulating a crime and fraud.

The investigation began when a resident of Cieza went to the Civil Guard headquarters in the municipality of Cieza to report that, the day before, while making a call, his cell phone had been stolen by an individual on a scooter.

The investigation revealed that the following day, he sold his phone at a local computer store, allegedly intending to keep it after filing the complaint. He used the money from the sale to buy a new one.

The Civil Guard found out that he had also informed the insurance company, which provided him with a terminal identical to the one allegedly stolen, thus obtaining two high-end and valuable terminals in a short space of time.

Operation "Talking" has culminated in the arrest of a 24-year-old man from Cieza, suspected of feigning crime and fraud.

The detainee and the investigations carried out have been made available to the First Instance and Investigation Court No. 1 of Cieza.
