The Bishop of the Diocese of Cartagena, Monsignor Lorca Planes, presided over the Mass in honor of Our Lady of Good Success, Patron Saint of Cieza, celebrated this Sunday evening at the Basilica of Our Lady of the Assumption.
During the ceremony, the venerated image received floral tributes from brotherhoods, associations, and institutions, including the Cieza City Council. Representatives of the Junta de Hermandades Pasionarias (Passion Brotherhoods Board), regional authorities, and representatives of the municipal corporation, led by the city's mayor, Tomás Rubio, attended the ceremony. Rubio handed over the city's baton of command to the patron saint while he was in the city before returning to the mountain hermitage on September 24, the day on which the traditional pilgrimage was held.
