The mayor of Cieza, Tomás Rubio, and the councilor for Tourism, María Turpín, presented today at Fitur the tourism product 'Cieza 4 seasons', a package with all the cultural, gastronomic and tourist offerings that can be found in the municipality.
With the name 'Cieza, 4 seasons', the Cieza City Council wants to position itself as a top tourist attraction in the Region of Murcia.
The councilor has given a general overview of the main tourist resources that the city has, which can be enjoyed throughout the year and, in particular, those that have become true tourist products, already consolidated and aligned with the values of our territory, taking advantage of the opportunity of FITUR to promote them and achieve greater promotion of them.
Among the things that make the city unique, Rubio highlighted the historical heritage: the Serreta cave-sinkhole and the Arab settlement of Medina Siyâsa, as well as the flowering of the peach orchards.
These are already established tourism products that, with proper promotion, will have the capacity to attract visitors/tourists, not only to the Cieza destination, but also to the Region of Murcia.
Attendance at the fair has been conceived as a promotion of the above, for which purpose a general introduction to the Cieza destination has been shown and, in particular, emphasis has been placed on what makes Cieza different from the rest.
The presentation consisted of a video showcasing the beauty and uniqueness of the fields in bloom, as well as the activities involved in the Flowering tourism project. The video also highlighted the tourist attractions of the Serreta cave and the abandoned Moorish village of Medina Siyâsa, creating a desire and interest in visiting the Region of Murcia among all those who watched it.
The presentation concluded with a brief interview with the mayor, highlighting the importance of the presented products for tourism.
Similarly, throughout the fair, visitors to the Region of Murcia stand were offered a tasting of the Mollar de Cieza olive, listed by the Ministry of Agriculture as one of the traditional foods of the Region of Murcia.
