The Cieza EB Cadet Corridor continues on the winning track

Another game for our junior team, "Juan Marín." On Saturday morning, the little ones visited UCAM Murcia, a match marked by warmth and strong play from both teams. Despite the weather, we were able to enjoy a great day of youth basketball, which ended with the team from Murcia winning 4-1.

CB Molina 73- Agronolex Cieza EB alevin 85. First game of the second phase played by our alevín team. A fairly even first half. A very good fourth quarter allowed us to go up 19, 31-50. But Molina did not give up and a partial of 31 to 8 for them, put them ahead and with 4 minutes left the game was tied at 65. These last 4 minutes were the best for the Ciezans, with very good defense, which allowed quick counterattacks that ended in easy baskets.

Children's Team

The CI-CARS Cieza EB youth team traveled to Caravaca to play the tenth matchday of this second phase, a match that began with significant setbacks, as one of their players had to be taken to the hospital before the game began, with their thoughts more focused on their teammate than on the game. The game began with a match in which the boys never fully got into the game after a disastrous first period. They then gained a foothold in the game and managed to equalize at halftime at 27/24. In the second half, despite the absences, the team continued to fight until the end, even with some brilliant moments. It was only in the final quarter, and as a result of fatigue and hard work, that the game was decided in favor of the Caravaca team. The final score was 57-48.

A brilliant victory for the Cadete A team, Transportes Corredor, in Lorca, 43-81, puts them squarely in the fight to finish the season at the top of the standings. The Cieza EB boys didn't start the game feeling good, leading the home team 7-0 at the start, and a possible injury, which proved to be just a scare, seemed to portend a difficult match for the boys in black. After a timeout and tightening the screws, the Cieza team began to open up, and after playing good defense, the team gradually gained ground on the home team, taking a 15-17 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The positive feeling continued in the second quarter, with Lorca struggling to score easily, although the lead wasn't decisive at halftime, 23-34. The third quarter was the team's best all season. Ciezaeb's boys came out even hungrier, playing fast-paced basketball on offense and tough defense, failing to give their opponents a single chance at the basket. This resulted in a 6-25 run that ultimately sealed the game. After that, Ciezaeb didn't let up in the final quarter. No disrespect to the Lorca boys, they remained determined until the end of the match. An incredible performance from this team, which has moved them ahead of Lorca in the standings and gives them confidence to tackle their goal of first place.

Cadet B Team

Cadet B team won in Santomera, 60-67. The Ciezaeb boys came out very focused, stealing balls and making it difficult for their opponents to score, creating a good lead at the end of the first quarter, 8-17. From the second quarter onwards, the home team's defensive performance increased, matching the performance of the boys in black, leading 23-34 at halftime. The second half was much more evenly matched than the first, with the team even losing the third and fourth quarters by 2 points each, leading to a close finish in which the Santomera boys were very successful, making impressive three-pointers. Even so, the Ciezaeb boys were not going to throw away their strong performance and managed to patiently close out a great team victory that gives them confidence heading into the final stretch of the season.

After two victories in each match, this time it wasn't to be, and victory didn't grace us. The snail's strategy of closing in on the opponent's area, as cowardly as it was sometimes effective, worked, and the Junior B derby went to the other local team. The match was tied at times with exchanges of blows, and despite never judging the referee's work, we saw a 21-throw advantage against us, which clearly tipped the game in favor of the visitors, who took advantage of every opportunity to insult and intimidate our players. The score was 57-70, and a record of two wins and one loss for our juniors, whom we can only congratulate for standing up and not faltering in the face of "wind and tide."

Asesoría Saorín CiezaEB 64 – 71 Beniel in the Second Regional Division. A very evenly matched game, with the lead changing hands several times. Both teams had their moments in the lead, but the score remained tied until the end of the final quarter. Two three-pointers from Beniel went in, but the home team's response, although they managed to attack their opponent's aggressive defense, couldn't reap the expected rewards and ended up trailing on the scoreboard. A thrilling game that was decided in the final three plays.

Next weekend, Saturday at 10:00 a.m., Juan Marín CiezaEB junior team faces MARME. At 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, CiezaEB junior team will face CB Molina. On Sunday, at 10:00 a.m., CORREDOR CiezaEB cadet team will host EDM Caravaca. At our home, Juan José Angosto Pavilion.
