The municipal government increases the budget for the Farmers' Office by 4,000 euros.

This morning, Mayor Tomás Rubio and COAG regional president José Miguel Marín signed the renewal of the agreement between Cieza City Council and the aforementioned agricultural organization for the operation of the Farmers' Assistance Office. This strengthens the City Council's support for the agricultural sector, which continues to be the foundation of the local economy.

The latest budget amendment approved by the plenary session paved the way for the signing of this agreement, as it includes the corresponding allocations for said financial support.

The mayor emphasized the essential role of Cieza's countryside as the driving force and first gear of the local economy, and expressed his determination to "continue supporting any approach that contributes to strengthening the protection of the agricultural sector, which, with the renewal of this annual agreement, is demonstrated by the €4,000 increase in the amount allocated to the Farmers' Office in 2023.

Also attending the signing of the agreement were Miguel Ángel Piñera, local president of COAG Cieza; Manuel Martínez, Councilor for Agriculture; and Santiago Martínez Gabaldón, president of FECOAM.
