The new municipal citizen service center in the former courthouse building is now fully operational.

This week, all municipal services planned for these new facilities were completed moving into the renovated building on Esquina del Convento, according to sources from the Department of General Administration. The building now houses the registry, urban planning, inspection, statistics, census, tax collection, land registry, tax management, and one-stop shop services.

The works have been co-financed in 80% by European ERDF funds within the EDUSI strategy.

Councilor María Jesús López emphasized that, with the new Citizen Service Center, "the City Council is providing facilities dedicated entirely to customer service, taking a leap forward in quality in terms of service to citizens. We have enhanced this building to address the most in-demand municipal issues: registry, urban planning, statistics, tax collection, tax management, and land registry. These are the departments most frequently used by users, who will now have a modern, accessible, and centrally located space in the city."

López also highlights the importance of the employment workshop that the project has been responsible for developing, which has allowed numerous people to gain training while also working and earning a salary.

The City Council received a €355,725 grant from the Regional Employment and Training Service (SEF) for the renovation project of the former courthouse building, located on Esquina del Convento and unused for years. The more than 800 square meters of its three floors have been converted into local government offices, centralizing the main processing and management services for residents.

The idea, which finally became a reality, sought to create a citizen service center that would bring together and centralize various services that had been scattered throughout the town.
