The SEF opens registration for key competency tests

Those without compulsory secondary education (ESO) or high school diplomas can now register to take the key competency tests in mathematics, language, and English that the Regional Employment and Training Service (SEF) will hold in November in the municipalities of Alcantarilla, Cartagena, Cehegín, Jumilla, Lorca, Molina de Segura, and Murcia.

Passing these exams opens the door for both unemployed and employed people to the job training courses that require these qualifications, specifically those leading to Level 2 professional certificates, which require a compulsory secondary education (ESO), and Level 3 certificates, which require at least a Baccalaureate degree.

Level 2 exams will be held on November 14 and Level 3 exams on the 16th, according to the call published in the Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia (BORM).

Participants can apply for all or some of the key competencies listed, depending on the requirements of the professional certificates they are interested in pursuing. Level 2 and 3 certificates require passing math and language tests, while English proficiency is required to access those that include an English module, such as "Port Operations: Loading, Stowage, Unloading, Unloading, and Transshipment."

Key competency courses

The application form, which is available in the 'key competence' section of the SEF website, should preferably be submitted electronically through the electronic headquarters of the Community, although it can also be done in person at the SEF registry (Avenida Infante Juan Manuel, 14, Murcia), in the National Chemical Reference Center of Cartagena and at employment offices. The application period is open until October 5.

The SEF not only organizes these tests but also offers key competency training courses through collaborating entities and the National Chemistry Reference Center in Cartagena, lasting between 120 and 150 hours. Successful completion of these courses is equivalent to passing the key competency tests, which will be held in November.

Likewise, the free online platform Form@carm It offers training courses for preparing for key competency exams, as well as numerous teaching resources and self-assessment tests.
