This past Wednesday at around 5:30 p.m., several residents found a dead wild boar next to the Segura River as it passes through Cieza, on the right bank and in front of the Paseo Ribereño, a little below the Alambre Bridge.
Civil Protection members present in the area posted a sign warning no one to approach the animal, as it was in the process of decomposition and had a strong odor. The animal's hind legs had been amputated, and much of its body was stuffed into a plastic bag, similar to a garbage sack.
They notified the local police, who then called the appropriate personnel to remove the animal, as it was located near the Paseo Ribereño, a popular area for many Cieza residents to walk and play sports at that time of the afternoon.
