The 1-1-2 Emergency Coordination Center in the Murcia Region received a call at 6:47 p.m. this afternoon reporting an accident at work at the La Solana del Picacho farm in the municipality of Jumilla, on the border with Cieza.
The caller reports an accident involving a tractor that collided with a metal sheet, leaving the driver unconscious on top of the tractor.
The property is located at the height of the RM714 road at PK 15.
Local police patrols from Jumilla and Cieza arrived at the scene.
The 061 Medical Coordinator has mobilized an ambulance belonging to the Murcian Health Service (a Mobile Emergency Unit).
The details of the accident are reported to the Occupational Health and Safety Institute.
Emergency and Health Department personnel confirm the death of the farm tractor driver.
The deceased is a 23-year-old male.
Medical personnel requested firefighters at the scene. Firefighters from the Cieza fire station, which belongs to the Murcia Region Fire Consortium, are heading to the scene. (Five firefighters and two light urban trucks are heading to the area.)
