The Department of Social Policies, together with the "la Caixa" Foundation, has launched, for the first time in this municipal area, a project to offer all groups of people with disabilities the opportunity to participate in some of the activities offered by Floración during this time of year in the municipality of Cieza.
To enable people with disabilities to enjoy nature, the scent of spring, and the fields tinged with white and pink, it is necessary to adapt flowering routes and activities so that they can also enjoy them during this short period of time.
“However, we encounter different groups within the disability community who, due to their specific characteristics, present different needs. Each group's limitations are different, and therefore, their needs are different. Each group's preferences are also different when it comes to choosing an activity. That's why this project has set different goals for each group of people,” says Melba Miñano, the councilor responsible.
A total of 330 people from six associations will participate in the activities. These groups include ACIFAD, AFEMCE, Tocaos del Ala, AEPISMI, Nueva Fundación Los Albares, and ASCOPAS.
Each association, taking into account the needs of the people it serves, will carry out tailored activities, ranging from train rides through the blooming season to walking tours, country lunches, and more.
"The 'la Caixa' Social Work Foundation, therefore, continues to show its support for the Department of Social Policies, in this case to co-finance this project and make it possible for the municipality's disabled communities to experience the spectacle of nature that Cieza experiences during the flowering period," Miñano concludes.
