The Civil Guard dismantles a marijuana storage site in Cieza.

The search carried out in the storage room of the home resulted in the seizure of 23 kilos of marijuana buds, two hunting shotguns and 300 cartridges of ammunition.

Allegedly, they stored the drugs to supply them to other dealers in the Vega Alta del Segura region.

The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, within the framework of the fight against drug trafficking, has carried out the operation 'PUMBO' in the municipality of Cieza, an investigation that has resulted in the dismantling of a storage and distribution point of marijuana installed in a house, where 23 kilos of marijuana buds, two firearms and 300 cartridges of ammunition have been seized.

So far, a couple aged 29 and 32, of Spanish nationality and residents of Cieza, have been arrested for the alleged commission of a crime against public health, for drug trafficking.

The investigation began in September of last year, when the Civil Guard was on the trail of an alleged criminal network dedicated to the storage and distribution of marijuana buds to various drug dealers, based in the Vega Alta del Segura region.

The investigators gathered the necessary information until they located a property, located in the municipality of Cieza, where it was suspected that the narcotic substances were being stored.

The investigations carried out around this address made it possible to confirm the frequent arrival of vehicles whose occupants unloaded large black bags, supposedly full of marijuana buds, which they handed over to the couple who lived in the house.

The Civil Guard focused its investigation on these individuals until it was discovered that both had prior records for drug trafficking offenses and that, apparently, they could maintain a storage point for marijuana buds in the aforementioned premises for later distribution to third parties, supposedly related to the retail trafficking of the drug.

The results of the investigation were brought to the attention of the judicial authority, who granted the corresponding warrant for entry and search of the property under investigation.

Recently, in a large police operation, officers of the Civil Guard carried out an examination of the house, finding, in a storage room, 23 kilos of marijuana buds, two shotguns and 300 cartridges of ammunition, all of which have been seized.

Simultaneously, its two residents have been arrested as alleged perpetrators of the crime of drug manufacturing and trafficking.

According to the investigation, the now detained individuals used their home to collect and store cannabis sativa, which was then dosed for distribution to third parties related to the sale of narcotics in the Vega Alta del Segura region.

Operation PUMBO, which is still ongoing and therefore further arrests are possible, has so far resulted in the dismantling of a cannabis sativa storage point, as well as the arrest of two people as alleged perpetrators of drug trafficking offenses.

The arrested individuals, the seized drugs, and the confiscated weapons and effects, along with the proceedings carried out, have been placed at the disposal of the Court of Instruction of Cieza (Murcia).
