The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has conducted an investigation in Cieza to identify the owner of two potentially dangerous dogs that bit a neighbor while he was on a property he owned.
The investigation culminated in the arrest of the owner of the animals as the alleged perpetrator of the crime of reckless injury.
The operation began when the Civil Guard learned of an attack on a resident of Cieza by two potentially dangerous dogs.
As soon as the incident became known, Citizen Security Prevention patrols went to the scene, a home located in Los Prados de Cieza, where they interviewed several people who described what had happened.
The incident apparently occurred when the property owner was entering his property, when two dogs entered the compound and attacked a small dog. His daughter was able to pick up the injured animal and run with it toward the house while being chased by one of the American Pit Bull Terriers.
To prevent it from attacking the girl, both the complainant and a relative stood between the dog and the girl, at which point the animal bit one of them on the arm. Seeing that the dog did not give up its bite, the girl's father grabbed the shotgun he had been hunting with and shot it down.
The officers then searched the area until they found the escaped dog, which, once located, was taken to the Cieza Municipal Zoonosis Center.
The Civil Guard discovered that the animals lacked identification chips, so they investigated until they discovered the identity of their owners.
Once located, officers confirmed that this person lacked the required license to own potentially dangerous dogs.
The 55-year-old Spanish male owner, a resident of Cieza, was arrested as a suspected perpetrator of the crime of reckless injury.
The detainee and the investigations carried out have been placed at the disposal of the Cieza Investigative Court.
