The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has identified, located, and arrested a resident of Cieza as the alleged perpetrator of the crime of public disorder for allegedly sharing an audio file in which she warned of the COVID-19 infection of a supermarket employee in the town.
The investigation began when the Civil Guard learned of the dissemination, via instant messaging, of an audio file in which a woman's voice warned of the coronavirus infection of a supermarket employee in the municipality of Cieza.
This voice message spread widely, creating confusion and social alarm among the population of Cieza, who feared they had been infected.
Representatives of the company that owns the establishment reported to the Civil Guard the harm caused to the company by the dissemination of this information, after noticing a drop in customers at the establishment where the employee mentioned in the audio works.
After conducting numerous investigations, the Civil Guard has identified the person who allegedly recorded and distributed the audio file under investigation to several of his contacts via instant messaging.
The investigation has culminated in the location and arrest of the suspect, a 30-year-old woman from Cieza, who is alleged to be responsible for the crime of public disorder.
The detainee and the investigations carried out have been handed over to the Cieza (Murcia) Court of Instruction.
