A statement from the local government indicates that "the mismanagement of the previous municipal government has resulted in numerous rulings and payment obligations that the current Cieza government has had to face. Among the most notable amounts, we recall the €5 million for the V6, the €53,000 for PROINTEC, the €525,000 for mismanagement of state transfers from previous years, and the €10,000 for mismanagement of DTT, in addition to sanctions or rulings from labor courts."
The note states, "To all this, we must add another one that recently arrived: the City Council has been sentenced for not paying the fees to an architectural firm commissioned in 2007. The amount for which the City Council is being sentenced is approximately €11,000, although, given the time that has passed and the existence of interest, the figure will increase considerably."
In the opinion of the current City Council leaders, "the malpractice carried out by the previous PP government in 2007 now brings harm to the people of Cieza, who will have to face, in addition to the 11,000 euros, in interest accrued over these years, which will exceed the figure of 6,000 euros. It should be remembered that, at this time, we are awaiting the resolution by the TSJ chamber of the appeal of another judgment that already condemned us to 600,000 euros, arising from the golf course agreements, and we are also still awaiting a ruling on the latest lawsuit filed by those expropriated from the V6, since the delay of the previous government in resolving this conflict, in addition to the harm caused by the interest payments (approximately 2 million euros), also led to the filing of new lawsuits requesting revaluation."
Regarding this lawsuit, "which could entail an obligation of 3 million euros," the Councilor for Finance, Antonio Martínez-Real, as he stated in July 2015, when he took office, expressed his "confidence that it will not be successful, since the land has already been sufficiently valued and it does not seem fair for its value to increase."
