Firefighters and rescuers from the Air Rescue Group of the Fire and Rescue Consortium of the Region of Murcia, aboard the helicopter of the General Directorate of Citizen Security and Emergencies based in Alcantarilla, have rescued a 46-year-old man and a second person who was trying to help him, who were injured after falling down a slope in the vicinity of the Rambla del Moro, in the municipality of Cieza.
1-1-2 received a call from one of the victims at 8:49 a.m. The caller reported that he had fallen down a slope and was injured in a difficult-to-reach area near Rambla del Moro, providing the coordinates of his position.
Environmental agents were dispatched to the scene and confirmed that it was impossible to evacuate the injured man by land, so a helicopter with firefighter rescuers was mobilized. Meanwhile, a second person who arrived at the scene and attempted to help with the rescue also fell down the slope.
Firefighters rescued the two injured people and transported them by helicopter to the "Lorenzo Guirao" hospital in Cieza.
