At 5:19 p.m., the 1-1-2 Emergency Coordination Center in the Murcia Region received a call from the Cieza local police reporting an accident at work in the Cabezo de la Fuensantilla area.
An earthmoving machine overturned, trapping its driver inside. The machine fell 5 meters.
They later reported that they were able to rescue the driver, who was trapped but needs urgent medical assistance.
The victim, a 38-year-old man, suffered severe chest trauma with possible fractures and is experiencing difficulty breathing.
The following personnel were mobilized to the scene:
- Local police of Cieza.
- Ambulance of the Emergency and Health Management Department 061 (A Mobile Emergency Unit).
The victim works for an excavation and earthmoving company.
The Occupational Health and Safety Institute Technician was informed of the accident.
The Civil Guard is aware of the accident.
Medical personnel from the UME (United Medical Unit) transported the injured man to the Lorenzo Guirao Vega Hospital. He suffered chest trauma and is in very serious condition.
Due to the severity of his injuries, the injured man was subsequently transferred to the ICU of the Morales Meseguer University Hospital in Murcia.
