The 2nd Down Cieza Solidarity Race and Walk will be held this coming Saturday, June 3rd, starting at 7:30 p.m., with the race adapted for athletes with disabilities. The children's races will then begin, followed by the 4.8km hiking walk, scheduled for 8:00 p.m. The senior race will also include a choice of 4.8km (one lap) or 9.8km (two laps). The start and finish will once again be located in Parque del Toro.
Registration is still open for the event, organized by the Down Cieza Association in collaboration with the Department of Sports of the Cieza City Council and the Athletics Federation of the Region of Murcia, through its registration platform (Click here to register). The profits will go to the association.
The cost is €10 for the senior race and €7 for the senior walk, €4 for the children's race and walk, and free for the adapted race. Registrations cannot be made after the deadline or on the day of the race. Race numbers can be collected at Parque del Toro on the day of the race, from 5:30 p.m. until half an hour before the start. Participants must show their ID or proof of identity to collect them.
There will be trophies for the top three overall finishers, both male and female, as well as medals for all participants in the children's races.
This year, the event features an improved course, two distances in the senior race: 9,800 m and 4,800 m for everyone, an adapted sports category, children's races, inclusive games, a charity walk, and raffles for attendees.
