Throughout the school year, most primary schools carry out activities aimed at improving coexistence and preventing bullying through the TEI Program: Antonio Buitrago, Gerónimo Belda, José Marín, Pedro Rodríguez, San José Obrero, Santo Cristo del Consuelo, Colegio Concertado Cristo Crucificado, Juan Ramón Giménez, Madre del Divino Pastor and Miguel de Cervantes.
Each school year, the designated schools appoint fifth-grade students as tutors to tutor third-grade students. This means that the older students (two years old) provide emotional support to their younger classmates. In addition, the schools conduct awareness-raising activities based on values such as empathy, commitment, solidarity, and more.
At the same time, this program is coordinated by the Department of Education. Through this program, all TEI students meet three times a year to participate in shared activities that help them connect with students from other schools and value their work throughout the school year. These meetings take place at Christmas, Community Week (March), and the end of the school year (May).
Cieza is the only TEI city in the Region of Murcia
This third meeting started from the Plaza de España, where the 5th grade students gathered with banners against school bullying on the occasion of the day against school bullying (May 2nd) and a column of boys and girls went to the Juan José Angosto Pavilion, where each school had to make an 'anti-bullying' poster.
A poster has been chosen from each school and will be presented to a jury to determine the winner.
"The meeting was very positive and rewarding on an educational, social, and emotional level," the organizers note.
Cieza is the only TEI city in the Region of Murcia, along with other important Spanish cities such as Santander, Barakaldo, Tarragona, Ourense, and Valladolid.
