The Department of Employment and Economic Development has announced the launch of the new Joint Employment and Training Program for Seniors, "Conservation and Restoration of Cieza's Historical Heritage. Siyâsa Site. Improvement of Infrastructure and Urban Furniture."
The program began this May and will conclude on April 30, 2025.
This project is aimed at unemployed people between the ages of 25 and 54. It consists of three workshops associated with professional certifications: "Carpentry and Furniture Finishing," "Basic Operations in Light and Technical Coatings in Construction," and "Reproduction of Molds and Artisanal Ceramic Pieces."
This program will last one year and involves a total of 21 student workers. The students are hired by the City Council through a training and apprenticeship contract. This team is also supported by teaching and coordination staff.
Cieza receives a grant
To this end, the Cieza City Council has received a grant of €566,468.91 from the Regional Employment and Training Service (SEF), while the Council is contributing €101,551.04 to carry out various actions included in the project, such as: rehabilitation of various urban spaces in the Plaza de España and Medina Siyâsa Park, restoration of carpentry and street furniture in the Paseo Ribereño area, and perimeter fencing of the Department of Employment and Economic Development grounds.
Upon completion of the program, students will receive an official professional accreditation, which will enhance their resume and facilitate their entry into the job market.
This will allow students who successfully complete these courses to obtain a professional qualification from the National Catalogue of Professional Qualifications, thus enhancing their professional resume. As an official document, it is considered in any selection process organized by public administrations and provides professional accreditation to private companies.
