The Brotherhood of the Prayer of the Garden and the Holy Sepulchre presented the organization of its 2nd 7-a-side Football Tournament at a press conference this Wednesday. This tournament, in collaboration with the Cieza City Council's Sports Department, will be held at the La Arboleja and Joaquín Sánchez stadiums on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, June 16, 17, and 18, respectively.
The presentation was attended by the president of Los Dormis, Antonio Gómez; Borja Ortiz, director of the brotherhood's sports department; and Carlos Semitiel, acting Councilor for Sports.
Registration is still open to participate in this event, which combines sportsmanship and fun. The competition will feature a maximum of 16 teams, and the draw for the matches will be held on Thursday the 15th at 9:00 p.m. at the Los Dormis House Museum.
Antonio Gómez commented that "we are continuing this sporting format, the 24-hour football tournaments, which have been a must-attend sporting event during the Cieza summers for years. The first edition was a resounding success in terms of organization and participation, and with the invaluable collaboration of the Cieza City Council's Sports Department, we aim for the second edition to consolidate this tournament, aiming for a long run until it becomes a classic of our summer season."
For his part, Carlos Semitiel stated that "this tournament continues to speak volumes about the health of sports in Cieza. One of the missions of the Sports Department is to support these competitions, which are beneficial to the general public."
The brotherhood will provide food and drink service during the tournament for participants and the general public.
