The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, as part of the services established to prevent and prosecute drug trafficking, has carried out Operation Dianchi in Cieza. This investigation concluded with the dismantling of a greenhouse dedicated to the illicit cultivation of marijuana and the dismantling of a criminal group, with the arrest of its three members as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of drug cultivation and production and electricity fraud.
The operation began a few months ago, thanks to citizen collaboration, when officers from the Civil Guard's Citizen Security Prevention Unit obtained evidence of the alleged existence of a marijuana cultivation site located on the outskirts of the Cieza municipality.
The first steps of the operation led the Civil Guard to a property in El Olmico, in the municipality of Cieza, where the illegal cannabis plantation was apparently located.

The main line of investigation focused on this property, which led to the identification of three individuals who were allegedly behind the crimes under investigation. The Civil Guard also confirmed the existence of an illegal connection to the electrical grid that supplied power to the facilities.
Once all the necessary evidence was obtained, the Civil Guard entered and searched the property and found a clandestine greenhouse inside a tool shed dedicated to the mass cultivation of marijuana. At the time of the search, nearly 100 cannabis plants were in the final stages of cultivation.
During the search, in addition to the marijuana plants and the greenhouse's lighting, heating, irrigation, and ventilation devices, the Civil Guard also seized a large quantity of marijuana buds prepared for immediate distribution and all the elements used in drug trafficking, such as precision scales and containers for preparing doses, among others.
The Civil Guard has completed the operation with the arrest of three members of the criminal group, suspected of crimes against public health, drug cultivation or production, and electricity fraud.
