The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, within the framework of operation 'Kles', has developed an investigation in Cieza aimed at identifying, locating and arresting the perpetrators of a group assault on a young resident of the town, which occurred on the 5th, in a well-known nightclub.
So far, the Civil Guard has arrested four people who are believed to be responsible for the crimes of serious injury and failure to provide assistance, although the investigation is ongoing.
The operation began on June 5th, when the Civil Guard was alerted to a riot in the vicinity of a nightclub in Cieza, where, apparently, several individuals had assaulted an 18-year-old man, who suffered serious injuries.
From that moment, the Civil Guard gathered evidence and testimonies from the crime scene that allowed them to determine that the fight originated inside the establishment due to alleged disagreements over the use of a foosball table.
Investigators determined that the victim was outside the establishment when he was attacked and beaten, kicked and punched, by a group of individuals until he lost consciousness. They then fled the scene.
A young nursing student assisted the victim on site
While an ambulance was en route to the scene, a young man, a nursing student, attended to the injured man who was eventually transferred to the Lorenzo Guirao Hospital in Cieza, where he was admitted with a traumatic brain injury.
The information obtained by investigators has allowed them to identify several of the individuals who allegedly participated in the attack. They are four young Spanish men, aged between 19 and 29, residents of Murcia, Cieza, and Abarán, who, after being located, have been arrested as the alleged perpetrators of the crimes of serious bodily harm and failure to render aid.
The owner of the entertainment venue was recommended for sanctions for several Covid-related violations.
The Civil Guard is continuing Operation 'Kles' to identify the other people who participated in the attack.
The detainees and the proceedings have been placed at the disposal of the Court of Instruction number 3 of Cieza.
