The Department of Commerce will stimulate the economic recovery of Cieza businesses through an investment of thirty thousand euros to help them overcome the crisis caused by the pandemic.
The Department of Commerce of the Cieza City Council, headed by María Jesús López Moreno, through a grant financed with state funds from the "COVID-19 Fund" of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism of the Government of Spain and with funds provided by the Ministry of Business, Industry and Spokesperson of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, is organizing the campaign to promote and encourage consumption in local businesses called "Destination: Your Local Business," in which the participating public can win important prizes in the form of discount vouchers for purchases and participate in a raffle for three trips.
The acting mayor, López Moreno, explained that "the initiative aims to promote and encourage spending in Cieza's businesses, foster customer loyalty, showcase the diversity and specialization of the town's commercial offerings, revitalize local commerce, and increase sales." All of this is intended to implement economic and financial support measures to safeguard, as much as possible, the productive sector and employment in the face of the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Big prizes to get you going
Participation will be open to businesses that join the campaign and customers who make purchases at them between March 22 and May 31, 2021.
The prizes consist of 1,000 discount vouchers worth €20 each, totaling €20,000; a trip for two people valued at €2,500, chosen by the winner from any travel agency in Cieza; and two additional trips for two people valued at €500 each. These prizes will be awarded by lottery.
A journey through local commerce
The campaign simulates a trip through participating local businesses, with the customer as the traveler. At the start of the campaign, shoppers will receive a passport for their first purchase of €20 or more at any participating store. They will need to collect a total of ten different stamps in their passport. Each stamp is earned with a purchase of €20 or more. The first stamp is awarded upon receiving the passport.
Once customers have collected all ten stamps from different businesses on their passport, they can exchange it for a €20 discount voucher to be spent on purchases of €20 or more at any of the participating businesses. All participating businesses will provide participants with a list of participating stores, and this list will also be published on the municipal website www.cieza.es and on the Cieza Town Hall's website.
The maximum number of discount vouchers available is 1,000, which will be given to the first 1,000 completed passports presented at designated passport redemption points, until all 1,000 vouchers are used up. Once the discount vouchers are gone, all other completed passports submitted during the campaign period will also be eligible to participate in the drawing for the three trips listed as prizes.
In addition to receiving a discount voucher (for the first 1,000 passports), all participants who complete the passport will be entered into a drawing for one of three trips. Customers who complete the passport will receive a numbered card with the same passport number, which will entitle them to participate in the drawing.
The deadline to use the discount voucher at any of the participating businesses is June 15, 2021. The draw will take place at Cieza Town Hall on July 6, 2021 at 12 noon.
