The Permanent Headquarters of the UMU resumes its activity in Cieza

The University of Murcia's Cieza branch will present its institutional renewal and action plan for 2024 this Friday at an event to be held at 10:30 a.m. at the Medina Siyâsa archaeological site.

The permanent headquarters of the University of Murcia in Cieza is resuming operations and consolidating its planned expansion in 2024 with an action program of great interest to both the municipality of Cieza and the University itself.

The inaugural presentation ceremony will feature high-level institutional representation from the rectorate and city council. Confirmed attendance includes José Luján Alcaraz, rector of the University of Murcia; Tomás Rubio Carrillo, mayor of Cieza; Ana Vanesa Valero García, vice-rector for Continuing Education; and María Turpín Herrera, municipal government spokesperson and councilor for Education, as well as members of the new campus council and its director, Mª Trinidad Cutanda López.

The event will take place in the incomparable setting of Medina Siyâsa, coinciding with the inauguration of the Cieza 2024 Flowering program.

The institutional renewal of the permanent headquarters is taking place with the signing of a new agreement between the University and the City Council.

The event will conclude with a guided tour of the Andalusian site.
