The work, worth €126,000, includes installing benches and wastebaskets, replacing various equipment and games with more modern ones, creating new play areas, and replacing and repairing the exterior fencing.
The Councilor for Public Works, Francisco Saorín, explained that "we are currently redesigning the various games that will be incorporated into the park. These will consist, on the one hand, of a sports area with various facilities so that seniors can engage in healthy exercise."
"Furthermore, we're going to provide an area for children ages 4 to 12, to which we'll add a three-dimensional net, a play space that helps children develop psychomotor skills and master their bodies. We'll also be adding a swing area and a children's zip line. Our goal is to provide games adapted to different ages, while also allowing children to strengthen their social and group relationships."
Saorín explained that "in the central area, where the pergolas are currently located, we will install various traditional street games on the ground. In addition, we will replace the old pond with a blue sand "river," where we will also install a play area for the little ones."
"Furthermore, the Department of Services will proceed with the installation of a dog park, a request made by local residents, which we will carry out in conjunction with the current works."
Finally, Saorín wanted to emphasize that, "of the 126,000 euros that this project represents, 101,000 will be financed through ERDF funds, within the EDUSI strategy that this Government achieved and which has contributed 5 million euros from European bodies within the European Regional Development Fund, under the slogan 'A way to make Europe'.
