The Cieza City Council confirms that the Covid-19 Monitoring Committee, at its meeting this Monday, decided to lift the perimeter lockdown of the city of Cieza and authorize the reopening of outdoor seating areas at bars and restaurants. Non-essential businesses will also resume their operating hours until 10:00 PM. The new measures will take effect this Wednesday.

The decision by health authorities is based on the decrease in the incidence in the municipality with respect to the accumulated cases over 7 and 14 days, which in the last week has dropped to 208 and 443 active cases, respectively.

The Covid-19 Monitoring Committee in the Region of Murcia today issued a statement regarding the perimeter lockdown and the closure of the hospitality sector in the 6 municipalities of the Community that were still under restrictions: Yecla, Cieza, Abarán, Pliego, Beniel and Ulea.

These days there has been concern about the case of Cieza, where in the last week there were 45 people infected with covid after an illegal celebration in which several families participated.

Municipal sources from the Cieza City Council have strongly emphasized to citizens that maintaining, and even improving, the current situation for the hospitality and retail sectors depends on strict adherence to the regulations. To achieve this, they say, it is essential to continue social distancing, wearing masks, and practicing good hygiene.
