The 'Nights of Terror and Legend' are here again this year.

Spirits and souls in torment will invade Cieza thanks to 'El Creadero'

On October 27 and 28, El Creadero Cultural Association will resume its traditional theatrical performance at the Prince of Asturias Park.

'Nights of Terror and Legend' will once again bring together the best ghost stories from Cieza in its 13th edition. This 2023, it returns with stories and legends from the town and folk wisdom. The Cultural Association, chaired by Mercedes Dato Carrillo, has once again chosen Príncipe de Asturias Park as its setting, a place where evil spirits will lurk.

The actors will perform legends that 'El Creadero' has been collecting, adapting, and recreating over its fourteen-year history. Some have never been seen before, and others haven't been performed for over five years, so that the show maintains its element of surprise. Among the stories to be shown are the story of 'The Hermit's Chapel,' which tells how the spirit of a hermit appears year after year to recite mass; 'The Murder on Cantón Street,' which recreates several crimes of passion that, unfortunately, occurred in Cieza during the 19th century; and the 'Santa Compaña,' a procession of souls who walk while praying and singing funeral chants, the only sound heard as they pass by.

Along with these, more than a dozen ghosts are directed by Rodrigo Gómez to roar their laments in an activity organized by 'El Creadero Cultural Association' and the Cieza City Council. The event will begin when the witch Genoveva's spells break the thin line that separates the world of the living from that of the dead.
