Advice and Warning from 112 Murcia for Heavy Rain.

Starting next Wednesday, the 25th, there will be a significant change in weather conditions, marking the end of the period of stability that has been with us for the past few weeks.

That day, a cold front will enter the western part of the peninsula and produce precipitation mainly on the Atlantic side. At the same time, a low pressure system will form just west of the peninsula, which will deepen and spread instability to the Mediterranean side and both archipelagos in the following days. Heavy rainfall could occur on Wednesday and Thursday in parts of the southwestern quadrant of the peninsula, especially in areas of Extremadura and western Andalusia. Friday and Saturday in the Mediterranean area. The lowest probability of precipitation will be on the Cantabrian side due to the predominance of southerly winds.

These southerly winds will strengthen on Thursday, reaching strong intensity in high altitudes; however, they will keep temperatures slightly high for the season, with snow only appearing in mountainous areas.

According to current models, this storm will remain fairly stationary or at least evolve very slowly, meaning the episode of high instability will last almost the entire week, affecting most of the peninsular communities and both archipelagos to varying degrees.

Due to the uncertainty surrounding the evolution of this storm and the long period of instability, it is difficult to determine in detail the degree of impact on the different communities, so reference is made to forecast bulletins, adverse event warnings, and future updates to this information note.

AEMET recommends more detailed and up-to-date monitoring of this atmospheric situation through its forecasts and warnings of adverse phenomena.
