The CI-CARS Cieza EB youth team traveled to Cartagena to compete in the fourth round of the second phase. Finishing first means you'll face the best teams in the region in the second. The match began with great dominance by the home team, who, with great defense and good mid-range shots, held off the Cieza team. At no point were they able to react to the home team's onslaught, which dominated the game from start to finish, leaving no room for a comeback. Little by little, they gained ground on the scoreboard until the final score was 85/34. Against a team that, at certain moments, plays better than you, all that remains is to congratulate them on their victory, with the respect and politeness that their opponent deserves, and to demonstrate, time and again, great sportsmanship and great effort on the field, unmistakable signs of CiezaEB, whether they win or lose.
Winning was what the two senior basketball teams from Cieza finally did.
SAORIN CONSULTING CiezaEB faced an old acquaintance on Saturday afternoon, CB Caravaca, who had just defeated Ceutí and were determined not to let us enjoy the victory. However, from the first minute, the Ciezans gave us no chance, winning in the first three quarters. Our systems were developed effectively; defense was the main asset that gave us the victory. Controlling the tempo of the game, something lacking in previous matches, gradually increased our advantage. Effective outside shooting and a powerful inside game, both defensively (5 blocks) and offensively, allowed us to reach the final score of 78-59. We would like to highlight that, at different stages of the game, four junior players advanced their development by participating in matches at a higher level than their own. When things are done well, results come.
New victory
BP BENEDICTO Cieza EB played on Sunday morning the first of the finals that await them in this second phase if they want to remain in the top regional competition, and they easily surpassed it against an intense UCAM. The first quarter was only one point in the hands of the home team (20-19). From then on, the speed and pressure of the capital team weighed on the home team, who, although they never lost control of the game, saw the second quarter fall in favor of the Murcians (12-18). Both teams gained momentum in the third quarter, which culminated with a 16-16 run, which put UCAM 5 points ahead. A 7-2 run in the first 5 minutes of the final period tied the scoreboard, and then the scoreboard maintained the pulse in the game. With 3 minutes left, a triple from UCAM gave them the lead, but two brilliant moments from the Ciezans got 5 points to make the final score 65-63.
Next week, on Saturday at 10am, our Juan Marín Benjamín faces UCAM, at 12pm a junior derby between the two CiezaEB teams, and in the afternoon, starting at 6pm, they will face MARME, the U16 B team, and at 8pm, Corredor CiezaEB will host Monteagudo. On Sunday at 10am, CiCars U16s host a dangerous Jairis team in what promises to be a thrilling match. All of this will take place in the Juan José Angosto pavilion.
