Luis Pastor presents his album 'Extremadura Fado' in Cieza

The Extremaduran singer-songwriter, one of the most committed voices in Spanish music of the last 50 years, returns to the Atalaya Club to present his latest album, "Extremadura Fado," on Saturday, May 4 at 9:30 p.m.

Awarded the Fine Arts Medal in 2022, on his new album, Luis Pastor, the voice of Vallecas, but born in the Cáceres town of Berzocana in the spring of 1952, returns musically to his homeland and neighboring Portugal with his latest work. Composed of 13 songs, "Extremadura Fado" represents a sonic return to his homeland and the border, that border mark where Portuguese and Extremaduran sounds merge. A display of finesse in which, moreover, Cape Verdean rhythms emerge, so present in Pastor's discography.

"Extremadura Fado" is nothing less than Luis Pastor in his purest form. Created during the pandemic, the troubadour assures us that the album could easily have been called "Love in the Time of Covid," an allusion to García Márquez's exuberant novel, "Love in the Time of Cholera."
