This past week, the program and the new ambassadors of the Moorish and Christian faction were presented, thus marking the start of the events planned for the 2018 Half Year of the "La Invasión" Shield Festival in Cieza.
Following the day of socializing and the 5th Ciezan Gastronomic Days of Typical Food this past Sunday, the Mid-Year Festive activities continue. Here's the schedule for the rest of the activities organized for this weekend in Cieza.
Friday 25th:
6:00 p.m., Plaza de España, opening of the medieval market.
Saturday 26th:
11:00 a.m., Plaza de España, 3rd Popular Days with Moorish Tea tasting, Children's Medieval Clothing Workshop, Medieval Painting Workshop, and much more...
At 5:15 p.m., Plaza de España, a gathering of Kabyles and troops begins. The parade will then begin at 5:30 p.m., leading to the Capitol Theatre in Cieza.
7:00 p.m., Capitol Theater in Cieza, ceremony to appoint festival officials, where the name of the town crier will be revealed and the poster for the 2019 "La Invasión" Shield Festival will be unveiled. Free admission to the event.
9:00 p.m., La Paloma Celebration Hall, Appointment ceremony for Corporals, Captains, and Standard-bearers for the upcoming 2020 Coat of Arms Festival, followed by a fellowship dinner.
Sunday 27th:
6:00 p.m., Chapel of San Bartolomé, celebration of the traditional mid-year mass in honor of San Bartolomé, officiated by the priest José Antonio García.
