The Civil Protection Plan for Snowfall is in the pre-emergency phase.
The State Meteorological Agency has issued an orange-level adverse weather forecast for snowfall for Wednesday and Thursday in the Northwest region. The Aemet estimates that tomorrow, starting at 6:00 p.m., snow depths of 5 cm could reach, and could reach 10 cm by Thursday, the 7th, in the aforementioned region.
In addition, there are also yellow-level adverse weather warnings for Thursday due to snowfall in the Altiplano (accumulation of up to 2 cm deep) and stormy conditions on the coast (northeast force 7 winds and waves up to 3 m high).
For all these reasons, the Civil Protection Plan for Snowfall and Cold Waves in the Region of Murcia has been placed in the pre-emergency phase. Under this phase, weather warnings are issued to affected municipalities, emergency services, basic utility companies, and, in general, to all government departments that may be involved in such situations, especially those responsible for maintaining road safety.
