The Craft Showcase will be open to the public on Saturday, November 23rd and Sunday, November 24th, with a showcase of various artisan trades.
Cieza opens another chapter in the celebration of fairs, shows, and exhibitions to bring the public closer to the culture of the past, present, and future. On this occasion, the Department of Crafts, headed by Conchi Villa, will take over the Paseo de Cieza this coming weekend for the launch of the Crafts Showcase.
Around twenty stands will gather in the town center for a gathering of artisans showcasing their products, where residents of Cieza can purchase and sample various handmade items. Participants will include a wide variety of artisan trades, including ceramists, potters, jewelry makers, leather workers, shoemakers, esparto weavers, and lace makers, all of which will leave no one indifferent.
There will also be demonstrations of pottery making, esparto weaving, bobbin lace making, and honeycomb honey extraction.
Villa has stated that "the Exhibition aims to put into practice
"I value the great work carried out by artisans and contribute to the dissemination of their trade." He added that "esparto grass will be one of the main protagonists, since we cannot forget that it is one of the hallmarks of Cieza and that contributed to the economic development of Ciezan families for a significant period."
Cieza City Council will continue to support crafts from two perspectives: first, by continuing the Exhibition as a showcase for the work of artisans, and second, by creating and formalizing the registry of artisans in Cieza.
