The Brotherhood of the Most Holy Christ of Forgiveness and the Most Holy Virgin of Beautiful Love wishes to inform the people of Cieza of the appointment of Doña Piedad Quijada Salmerón as the 2020 Lent Crier.
Born in Cieza on August 10, 1971. She holds a degree in Social Studies from the University of Murcia. She has been involved in the radio world for over 30 years, having worked at Antena 3 Vega Alta, Cadena Ilusión Radio, and Ser Cieza. She currently presents and directs the Vega Alta Morning Show on Cope Cieza. She is actively involved with Holy Week in Cieza. Professionally, she has spent over two decades sharing special programs with her listeners featuring all the presidents of the brotherhoods and sisterhoods of Cieza. On a personal level, she has been part of the group of narrators for the Prendimiento (Arrest) that takes place on Holy Tuesday in Cieza for seven years.
Her involvement with Cieza is very active. We often see her hosting galas, sporting events, charity lunches and dinners, and she's also the speaker for our Triathlon. Her passion is communicating and she considers herself privileged to be doing what she truly loves: LA RADIO.
Therefore, on the first Sunday of Lent, March 1, 2020, at 12:00, Ms. Piedad Quijada Salmerón will proclaim the arrival of Lent, a prelude to the imminent Holy Week, from the High Altar of the Parish of San Joaquín, thus taking over from Mr. José María Ruiz Lucas.

The Proclamation is part of a program of events that will begin at 12:00 with the celebration of Holy Mass by the parish priest of San Joaquín, Mr. Rafael Martínez Manda. The Proclamation will then be read, followed by a concert of Holy Week marches by the Cieza Municipal Band. Finally, a Brotherhood meal will be held.
