Next Thursday, October 19th, at 8:00 PM, the Siyâsa Museum will present the book of short stories by Cuban and Spanish archaeologist Francisco Escobar, "The Treasure of the Great Sinú."

The Treasure of the Great Sinú and other stories is a fictional novel consisting of three stories set chronologically between the late 15th century and the mid-16th century, and a fourth story that, although set in the present day, is closely related to one of the narratives from the early 16th century.

Meet the author, Francisco Fidel Escobar Guio

Born in the city of Holguín, Cuba, on April 2, 1959, he graduated in History from the University of Havana in 1996. He completed Advanced Postgraduate Studies at the Pablo de Olavide University of Seville in 2004.

In Cuba, he worked from 1983 to 1993 in different archaeological research centers of the Cuban Academy of Sciences, and from 1994 to 1999, he delved into underwater archaeology, investigating several shipwrecks from the 16th to the 19th centuries that occurred in Cuban waters.

Since 2002, he has lived in Spain, where he has directed more than 25 archaeological research projects. He has published several scientific publications, the result of his years of research.
