This week, the Cieza City Council and the agricultural organization COAG signed a renewal of the agreement between the two entities to finance the operation of the Municipal Farmer Information Office.
The mayor of the municipality, Tomás Rubio, and the regional secretary of COAG, José Miguel Marín, signed the annual agreement in the presence of the Councilor for Agriculture, Manuel Martínez, and the local president of the organization, Miguel Ángel Piñera.
The agreement, which amounts to €23,800, an increase of €1,300 compared to the previous year, will be used to maintain the local agricultural office, where farmers can apply for insurance, obtain information, and participate in courses and workshops aimed at training professionals in the sector.
The agreement also includes the establishment of plans and activities for the dissemination and promotion of agriculture, collaboration and support in all agricultural events, workshops, courses, and fairs sponsored by the Cieza City Council, and advice on the repair and maintenance of agricultural roads.
Tomás Rubio announced his willingness to "prioritize support for farmers from the City Council, as they sustain the basic sector of the Ciezano economy."
Finally, José Miguel Marín thanked the councilor for renewing the agreement.
