Representatives from the Cieza City Council and FAMDIF/COCEMFE-MURCIA held a follow-up meeting on the current employment and training agreement this Wednesday at the offices of the Department of Employment and Economic Development (INFOEM). The current agreement is annual and was signed on October 16, 2023.
According to a statement, "The Murcia Region's Employment Integration Service (SIL) of FAMDIF/COCEMFE-MURCIA (Federation of Murcian Associations of People with Physical and/or Organic Disabilities) is a free service that has facilitated access to employment for people with disabilities since 1994.
The Labor Integration Service (SIL) of FAMDIF/COCEMFE-Murcia has a specialized Office for Guidance and Employment Placement for People with Disabilities (GOIL) in the municipality of Cieza, providing assistance and support with job search, career guidance, and labor market prospecting techniques to promote the labor market integration of unemployed people with physical and/or organic disabilities. The SIL has been providing its services in Cieza since 2019.
Development of the agreement

During the meeting, the development of the agreement was evaluated and assessed, and the various activities and initiatives carried out throughout the year were explained. These initiatives fall into four areas of action: Guidance, Training, Employment, and Self-Employment. To ensure the optimal development of the project, a team of technicians specializing in job integration (job counselors and employment technicians) has been deployed to the municipality of Cieza at least once a week. They provide comprehensive, personalized support throughout the active job search process.

It is important to highlight the work of the SIL in the municipality of Cieza, specifically throughout the 2023 fiscal year, where the following results were obtained.
- Guidance Area: 93 people have been treated and a total of 951 interventions-actions have been carried out with them (61 more than in 2022).
Training area
- Training area: Users from Cieza have been referred to training activities on 39 occasions, and 30 have begun training. These activities have been carried out by the Regional Employment and Training Service of the Region of Murcia (SEF), as well as by local centers, Adult Education Centers, and private entities.
It is worth highlighting the great acceptance of the 20-hour course that FAMDIF taught in Cieza called "Working in Digital," which was held on April 5, 18, 26, and May 4 at the Centro Social Géneros de Punto. Sixteen users from Cieza with basic or no digital skills attended. Through this course, students acquired the basic digital skills that allow them to "take advantage of the wealth of new possibilities associated with digital technologies." The following content was covered: basic use of the operating system, information processing, basic office tools, access to email, social networks, and use of the SEF e-curriculum application.
Employment area: During 2023, various actions have been carried out with 102 companies (in 2022 there were 83) and other entities in the municipality: visits, information, advice, management of offers, monitoring of hiring.
During 2023, 40 job offers were processed and 670 placements were carried out (70 more than in 2022). These figures denote an improvement compared to other years, showing that once the difficulties inherent in starting any activity have been overcome and once our entity is known in the municipality, the Labor Integration Service of FAMDIF/COCEMFE-MURCIA has become part of the resources available in the municipality of Cieza and appears as a reference organization and resource in terms of employment within the group of people with physical and organic disabilities in Cieza. As a result of all the actions carried out, the integration of 28 people with physical and organic disabilities has been made possible (in 2022 there were 25 insertions).
Self-employment area
Self-employment Area: Two SIL users in the municipality of Cieza have been advised and informed about the potential launch of a business idea. In 2023, one user registered as self-employed, specifically as an air conditioning technician. Additionally, users are informed about the Cieza City Council's Local Development and Employment Agency as another available resource.
By analyzing and interpreting the qualitative data obtained from the user, business, and entity satisfaction questionnaires, along with the quantitative objectives achieved, it can be concluded that the project developed during the years 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 in the municipality of Cieza meets and satisfies the common criteria, including scope, schedule, cost, quality, and stakeholder satisfaction.
The positive changes achieved since the SIL began providing its services in the municipality of Cieza can be assessed. It is an advantageous and feasible service that adapts to the needs of the project.
In conclusion, the Labour Integration Service of the FAMDIF/COCEMFE-MURCIA Region in the town of Cieza is a specialised and personalised resource for employment and training in the field of physical and/or organic disabilities, being a crucial tool for the full integration and inclusion of people with disabilities. We therefore believe that it is vital that the service continue in the municipality of Cieza, as it is an efficient service that shortens distances (users avoid travelling to Murcia to be treated) and which year after year meets and exceeds the predefined objectives, parameters and pre-established conditions, which has a favourable impact on the municipality of Cieza.
