The company that provides the domestic waste collection service is installing 100 new containers in Cieza for the storage of organic waste and debris (green containers), costing €23,000.
The councilor for services, Francisco Saorín, explained that "the containers are being placed on the streets of Numancia, Carreterica de Posete, Paseo, Buen Suceso, Reyes Católicos, Callejón de los Tiznaos, Pablo Iglesias, Carlos V, Camino de Madrid, and throughout the Old Town."
"They have been installed in these areas with the aim of providing all the neighborhoods to the left of Gran Vía with new surface containers, as the area between Camino de Murcia and Paseo de Ronda was covered last time. This will hopefully ensure a few years of container breakdowns in these areas. Furthermore, the goal is to replace the most deteriorated containers in other areas of the municipality."
"I can't help but remind you that, for the proper functioning of the containers, organic waste must be removed between 7:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. and placed in a sealed bag inside the containers, in order to prevent unpleasant odors from forming in the area around them."
"Furthermore, the containers include a telephone number for furniture and household goods collection on their screens. To use this service, residents must call 968456322 and receive information on how and when they will be collected. I remind you once again that removing them without an appointment is prohibited," the council member concludes.
