On Wednesday morning, the countdown began for the return of the festival participants to the streets with the official presentation of the Shield Festival "The Invasion" 2022.
The event, which took place in the chapel of the Hermitage of San Bartolomé, was attended by the mayor of Cieza, Pascual Lucas, and the councilor for Culture, Conchi Villa, accompanying the president of the Brotherhood of San Bartolomé and of the Commission of the Shield Festivals "The Invasion", Mariano Martínez Béjar.
Nearly twenty events were announced, including the reenactment of "The Invasion", the Grand Closing Parade, and the various embassies, which, during the weekend of April 29 to May 1, will transport our town back to the Middle Ages to remember those days that marked Cieza for all of history, as reflected in the city's motto.
All those involved have encouraged the people of Cieza and visitors to take to the streets of Cieza and enjoy, always responsibly, the return of the now emblematic festival to the streets.
