Personnel assigned to the Infomur Plan are working on a vegetation fire that broke out in some terraces near the town of Cieza.
1-1-2 received calls reporting the fire at 11:41 a.m. this Monday and located it in the terraces next to José Ríos Gil Avenue in the aforementioned town.
Firefighters from the Murcia Region Fire and Rescue Consortium were dispatched to the scene, requesting assistance given the extent of the fire. Environmental protection officers, two ground forestry brigades, a helicopter, and a helicopter-transported forestry brigade, as well as Civil Protection volunteers, were also deployed. Extinguishing efforts continued at 1:30 p.m. At 2:00 p.m., the fire was under control, affecting approximately 3.5 hectares of agricultural land, and was extinguished at 6:42 p.m.
