The 1-1-2 Emergency Coordination Center in the Murcia Region received several calls starting at 4:49 p.m. reporting the fall of an elderly man near the Iron Bridge at the end of the riverside promenade in Cieza.
The man fell from a height of 3.5 m and is lying on the riverbank. He suffered a severe blow to his side.
The following people were dispatched to the scene of the accident:
- An ambulance from the 061 Emergency and Health Service (a Mobile Emergency Unit) whose personnel, after treating the injured person, proceeded to transport him to the Lorenzo Guirao Hospital in La Vega.
- Local police of Cieza.
The victim is a 73-year-old man with multiple injuries. His condition is serious.
