On the morning of Thursday, August 3, at 8:27 a.m., a call to the 1-1-2 Emergency Coordination Center reported a traffic accident on the N-301 highway. An 86-year-old man was injured after being trapped inside his vehicle when it fell into a speed bump and was injured in the head in the area of Los Albares, specifically right at the Repsol gas station at the exit of Cieza Sur.
Civil Guard units, firefighters from the CIES Fire and Rescue Consortium, and a mobile emergency unit from the 061 Emergency and Health Management Department were dispatched to the scene.
After CEIS firefighters freed the injured man, he was treated by medical personnel and taken to the emergency room of Lorenzo Guirao Hospital in Cieza for medical attention. The vehicle, which was severely damaged, was still awaiting tow truck removal as of mid-morning today, according to sources consulted by the Civil Guard Traffic Department.
