Cieza City Council is once again launching the Citizen Participation process, which gives residents the opportunity to decide how to spend a sum of money earmarked for the implementation of a project or service in the municipality. The responsible council, headed by Concepci\u00f3n Villa, will allocate \u20ac170,000 for investments and \u20ac20,000 for activities.<\/p>\n

Sources from the council announced the process, which will be carried out in the following phases: collection of proposals from February 16 to February 27, technical reports from February 28 to March 7 (the technicians will report on the suitability and feasibility of carrying out the presented projects), presentation of objections on March 8 and 9, resolution of objections from March 10 to 13, and voting on projects from March 14 to 23.<\/p>\n

If no objections are submitted, the voting phase will begin on March 10. Voting will be possible online throughout the entire voting period.<\/p>\n

The results will be ready on March 24th. They will be published on decide.cieza.es and in other media used to promote the entire process.<\/p>\n

Likewise, the Department of Citizen Participation has announced that work will begin on the beach sports court in the coming days, as well as on the removal of architectural barriers in various areas of the town. The remaining pending projects, which will soon be launched and which were chosen with the participation of numerous residents, are currently being drafted.<\/p>\n

In the words of the head of the budget, Concepci\u00f3n Villa, "It's a path this government initiated and one we continue to champion. We understand politics only through the participation of citizens, and with these budgets, we aim to highlight participatory democracy, which is undoubtedly a tool for improving society and will leave a lasting impact on all its residents in the improvement projects carried out in the municipality through this tool. We encourage all residents to participate, either by submitting proposals or by participating in the voting process."<\/p>\n

The website that will support the entire process and where the rules for participation can also be consulted is decide.cieza.es, although technical assistance will be provided throughout the process to address any questions that may arise during the various stages.<\/p>\n
