The City Council reports that mobile phone operators Telef\u00f3nica, Vodafone, and Orange have announced that over the next few weeks they will be rolling out next-generation mobile phone services, 4G and 5G, in Cieza, using the 800 and 700 MHz bands, respectively. This will allow residents of Cieza to enjoy high-speed mobile connections with improved indoor coverage and greater geographical coverage.<\/p>\n

To ensure compatibility of the new technology with digital terrestrial television (DTT), Llega700 is the entity implemented by operators to resolve any problems with television signal reception.<\/p>\n

The deployment is part of Royal Decree 579\/2019, of October 11, which released the frequencies between 694 and 790 MHz (UHF channels 49 to 60), which until then had been used for the reception of Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT), a process also known as the Second Digital Dividend. These frequencies were then assigned to mobile phone operators to provide their next-generation mobile phone services.<\/p>\n

Main advantages: more and better coverage<\/p>\n

The new mobile network has opened the door to innovative services and applications, providing significant improvements in both download and data transfer speeds (photos, music, or high-definition audiovisual content), and allowing users to take full advantage of online applications such as video games.<\/p>\n

The next-generation mobile phone network introduces two fundamental improvements. The first is the ability to overcome the various problems associated with the complex terrain found in Spain, where coverage has traditionally been lacking. The second is the high penetration into interior areas of buildings.<\/p>\n

The new generation also facilitates the introduction of new services in the business and public administration sectors, such as mobile business applications with rich multimedia content or the use of video calls, among others.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the increased coverage achieved through deployment in the 700 and 800 MHz bands will improve service inside buildings and will be the band that enables efficient geographical expansion of the service.<\/p>\n

Ensuring compatibility of the next-generation mobile network and DTT<\/p>\n

Llega700 is the managing entity responsible for offering the services that will guarantee compatibility between the launch of 4G and 5G mobile broadcasts in the 800 and 700 MHz bands, respectively, and the reception of DTT services.<\/p>\n

To ensure this compatibility, Llega700 provides citizens with a series of free services, including a corrective procedure after the stations are switched on. Llega700 will assist affected users by managing and resolving any issues at no cost.<\/p>\n
