AEMET has issued a bulletin informing of the arrival of a new heat wave starting on Monday the 17th, affecting the Vega del Segura on Tuesday and Wednesday with maximum temperatures between 40\u00baC and 46\u00baC in the shade.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Thus, starting Monday the 17th, a southerly and southeasterly flow will begin to move over the Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, introducing a very warm, dry, and stable air mass, similar to the one that produced a heat wave earlier this week and likely accompanied by haze at higher altitudes. Combined with the high levels of sunshine typical of this time of year, this is expected to produce a rise in temperatures from this day onwards across much of the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, except for a few other areas.<\/div>\n

\u00a0On Monday the 17th, the highest temperatures will be reached in the central and southern interior of the peninsula and the Guadiana valley, where they will generally exceed 40\u00b0C, as well as in the Guadalquivir valley, where they will exceed 42\u00b0C, without ruling out that locally they may reach 44\u00b0C.<\/div>\n
Temperatures will also be high in the south of the North Plateau and the interior of the northeast quadrant, exceeding 37-38\u00b0C in large areas.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u00a0On Tuesday the 18th, temperatures will rise in the eastern third of the Iberian Peninsula, the upper Ebro Valley, and the Balearic Islands, while remaining stable or decreasing slightly on the Atlantic coast. Temperatures will continue to be very high in the central and southern parts of the peninsula, exceeding 40\u00b0C in large areas, and even reaching 42\u00b0C locally in the Guadalquivir Valley. This day will be especially hot in the northeastern quadrant and the Balearic Islands, with temperatures likely to exceed 40\u00b0C in large areas, and reaching 42\u00b0C is possible in the Ebro Valley, the northeastern depressions, northern Catalonia, and inland Mallorca. Minimum temperatures will also be very high during the episode, especially on Tuesday and Wednesday, with tropical nights, above 20\u00b0C, and even locally above 25\u00b0C, in the southeastern half of the peninsula and the Balearic Islands, and also affecting the Mediterranean coastal areas.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
