The Ministry of the Presidency, Tourism, Culture, Youth, Sports and Spokesperson, through the Tourism Institute of the Region of Murcia (Itrem), has showcased this weekend at the Festibike fair in Madrid the full potential of the cycle tourism offer of the Region.<\/p>\n
The Community, which participated in this event for the first time, took advantage of the opportunity to promote the wide range of regional cycle touring routes, suitable for panniers or touring, mountain biking, and road cycling.<\/p>\n
Also presented were hotels in the Region of Murcia with specialized infrastructure for cyclists, bicycle rental, repair, and sales services; as well as the various regional active tourism companies offering guided routes. Furthermore, resources such as the EuroVelo 8 route through the Region and the network of Greenways were highlighted, which currently includes the Northwest, Campo de Cartagena, Mazarr\u00f3n, El Hornillo Dock in \u00c1guilas, and Almendricos routes. Cieza Cicada<\/a>Cicada Yecla and The Flowering of Cieza<\/a>, with a total route of more than 185 kilometers.<\/p>\n The director of Itrem, Juan Francisco Mart\u00ednez, reaffirmed \u201cthe regional government\u2019s commitment to promoting active and sports tourism and, specifically, cycle tourism as a tourist resource that promotes healthy and sustainable experiences,\u201d in line with the Strategic Tourism Plan 2022-2032, and which has become \u201can undeniable source of territorial value generation.\u201d<\/p>\n This product, he affirmed, \u201cperfectly adapts to the new demands of tourists, who seek authentic experiences year-round, away from crowds and that respect the environment.\u201d In this regard, Mart\u00ednez pointed out that \u201ccycle tourism has become a major draw for travelers visiting the Region in recent years, as well as a product with great potential to reduce seasonality.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\nThe regional government is promoting active and sports tourism.<\/h4>\n
