At 15:30 the 1-1-2 Emergency Coordination Center received a call from two hikers, two women aged 37 and 39, who asked to be rescued because they had gotten lost while walking around the Mulata Dam, near the Almadenes Canyon<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The hikers, who were with their dogs, looking for the way back to where they had parked the car, had become disoriented and were in a difficult place to exit.<\/p>\n

Once the Cieza environmental officer analyzed the location of the hikers based on the location they had sent from their cell phones, it was decided that, given the difficulty in accessing them, the most appropriate option was for them to be rescued by the rescue team of the Fire Extinguishing and Rescue Consortium, transported by one of the helicopters of the General Directorate of Citizen Security and Emergencies.<\/p>\n

The helicopter rescued the hikers and their dogs, transporting them to the area surrounding the hydroelectric power plant at the end of the Almadenes Canyon<\/a> where an environmental agent was waiting for them and took them to their vehicles.<\/p>\n
