The mayor of Cieza, Tom\u00e1s Rubio, and the councilors for Agriculture and Commerce, Manuel Mart\u00ednez and Francisco Mart\u00ednez, respectively, traveled to Madrid this Wednesday to attend the 2023 edition of Fruit Attraction, one of the world's most important fruit and vegetable fairs. There, they expressed their support for the farmers and cooperative members of Cieza who are exhibiting their fruits and vegetables to visitors from all over the world, with the Cieza peach and its Protected Geographical Indication being the most prominent.<\/p>\n
Rubio stated that "it is inevitable to be here today at Ifema supporting the entire Cieza sector that produces, processes, and sells the products of our land and that comes to Fruit Attraction, one of the privileged showcases in the entire world to sell what we do best in Cieza: our agriculture, our agri-food offering. It represents the cornerstone of our municipality's economy and not in vain gives us a prestigious brand."<\/p>\n
Cieza, among many other valuable elements, is fundamentally its agriculture; that's why we come to defend and proclaim our prestige, to strengthen and promote the Protected Geographical Indication, for example, of our peach, which classifies it as one of the finest in the world's production. I hope that the commercial ties that Ciezan producers can establish at this fair will be numerous and of high quality; this will foster economic improvement and job growth in our municipality."<\/p>\n
Taking advantage of the visit, the mayor and the two councilors held working meetings and met with various cooperatives and the Minister of Agriculture, Sara Rubira. They also had the opportunity, along with MP Miriam Guardiola, to promote the Cieza Flowering Festival and the PGI peach during the visit of the national president of the People's Party (PP), Alberto N\u00fa\u00f1ez Feij\u00f3o.<\/p>\n
Once again, the Region of Murcia has a prominent presence at the Fruit Attraction Fair in Madrid until this Thursday, where the latest developments in the national and international agri-food sector will be showcased. The Murcia stand is decorated with local fruits and vegetables and a large flowering mural admired by all visitors to this agri-food trade fair.<\/p>\n
An event for which the Region of Murcia has arrived with the highest expectations, aiming to advance its consolidation and opening of new markets, as it allows tens of thousands of visitors to showcase the quality of the region's products.<\/p>\n
The fair features a food court where you can sample dishes and tapas made with typical products from the Region of Murcia, a meeting area, and a presentation area where various activities will take place over the three days.<\/p>\n
On this occasion, more than 110 companies from the region are present at Fruit Attraction, including producers, exporters, cooperatives, and auxiliary industries.<\/p>\n
